Finlay Blyth - Coach, Tone Edinburgh
I have always been most passionate about exercise, physical activity and helping others. I've been lucky enough to work in the Fitness Industry for 12 years and counting.
I am a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Royal Air Force Physical Training Instructor.
Sports was my main interest as a kid, I took GCSE (having grown up in Berwick Upon Tweed) Physical Education, gaining an A* then A Level Sports Studies, gaining an A. It felt easy because I loved it.
I took a job at my local Sports Centre in the Gym, where I was already training regularly as a customer. Linking this with instructing others and helping them was a real kick and I knew I was onto something! I was already a qualified Football Coach and had been working with kids for 2 years, I was confident giving advice and leading a group. This seemed to be the future for me.
Just as I turned 20 my dream came true and I successfully passed the selection process to join the Royal Air Force as a Physical Training Instructor (PTI). I graduated from the 9 month, full time, residential course as Corporal Blyth, with the honour of the "Best Overall" Award. I loved every minute of my career as a Full Time (Regular) PTI. The training was extremely rigorous, detailed and gave me a phenomenal foundation, professionalism and confidence in my field.
